We will be exhibiting at the leather shoe event, "Shoe Fest Osaka," for two days next week, on March 9th and 10th.
This event was planned by a group of shoe-loving volunteers in Osaka, led by Matsuda-san of SHOESLab.TORCH . We had been hearing about it since the end of last year, and it turned out to be an interesting event with a lineup of attractive brands.
Arch Kelly mainly deals in hand-made, made- to- order service shoes .
Arch Kerry HAND MADE
Here are some recent examples!
S-1342B
U-Throat Wholecut
Baltic Superbuck Suede
Whole cut blue suede. Stead's Superbuck "Baltic" was selected for the deep blue color seen in vintage suede. Double stitching on the welt recreates the double welt of the past.
S-3440
Algonquin Boots
Blue Horse Leather
The Arch Kelly V-tip has been made into a boot. The upper and lining are made of horse leather.
This masterpiece was born from the passion of Mr. Takahashi who ordered it. The details of how it was made are written in his note "Arch Kelly of Love" .
S-822
7 Eyelet Cap Toe Oxford
Tobacco Janus Calf
A popular model from the early days of Arch Kelly. The Janus Kaffe is made of the finest silver-plated suede, and has a soft texture. The golden brown suede shoes have a very classic look.
S-5263
Wingtip Blucher Oxford
Dark Cognac Cordovan
I received a request for an order for a wingtip shoe with an open lace, so I created a new pattern. You can see how cordovan, the holes, and the gimping go well together.
S-1443
"Algonuqin" Moc Split Toe Blucher Oxford
Color 4 Cordovan
These cordovan V-tip and V-shaped moccasins are hand-sewn. In the 1930s, Nettleton patented their hand-sewn moccasins as "Algonquin," which is why V-tip moccasins are called Algonquin. We use the same sewing method used in the patent.
S-2651
U-Wingtip Oxford
Black Calf / White Buck
U-Wing Spectator. The U-Wing is a design that perfectly matches Combi's material usage, and was often featured in their past spring/summer catalogs.
The black and white Spectator is a vintage classic!
S-1716
Stitched Tip Oxford
Tan Braeburn Grain
S-1716 is a reproduction of Florsheim's Jagged Cap Toe S-1311. The Braeburn Grain upper is a leather specially ordered by Arch Kelly. Only the surface of the leather is dyed, and the cut surface is not cored, leaving the brown core intact.
S-1152
Tassel Loafers
Black Superbuck Suede
Arch Kelly's tassel loafers use the Archie last developed for Oxfords. Compared to other brands' tassel loafers, the nose is longer, creating a neater shape. This point was appreciated by the customer and they placed an order.
S-1363
U-Throat Combination Oxford
Dark Cognac Cordovan
This custom-made pair combines dark cognac cordovan whole cut with brown grain leather. It goes well with the solid bottom with a 360° welt and double sole. It's a pair that you can look forward to aging.
S-1414
Algonquin Spectator Blucher Oxford
Tan Grain Calf / White Bucks
A combination of white bucks and tang-grain calf leather. The customer has Walkover's black and white Spectator, but has not been able to wear them due to concerns about the size and condition, so he ordered these shoes. The color scheme is great, but the texture is also interesting.
S-811
7 Eyelet Cap Toe Oxford
Tan Calf
Arch Kelly's flagship, 7-eyelet cap toe. It was ordered with a rusted shoe tree. The rustic tan color creates a vintage feel.
S-2850
Plain Toe Oxford
Black Patent Leather
A customer was going on a cruise. She ordered these shoes for a formal dinner. The plain toe with inner wing is a formal shoe that is on par with opera pumps. The silk satin shoelaces also add to the gorgeousness!
These are some recent examples of orders. Each shoe has a different pattern and a special attention to detail around the sole, making them unique to Arch Kelly handmade shoes. We look forward to receiving your interesting orders at the Osaka Shoe Festival!
Navy Last Service Shoes
We are sorry to have kept you waiting, but the fitting sample of the navy last is finally completed. Fitting will be available from Shoe Fest Osaka.
These service shoes use a Navy Last, which is a direct copy of the US Navy last from the 1950s , and are characterized by a fitting that provides strong arch support.
For more details about the product, please see[Pre-orders now being accepted] 24751 / Service shoes .
I'm bringing a kangaroo to Shoe Fest Osaka!
Kidskin/kangaroo leather is often seen in vintage shoes. I'm looking for a good leather for Arch Kelly, but it's difficult to find one that has a finely textured wrinkled look.
In the midst of all this, we managed to get hold of some kangaroo leather with the perfect texture. We currently have four pieces of black leather in stock at Arch Kelly. The leather shop has no plans to tan any more, so we have limited stock of more in the future.
A cap toe made from Kangaroo. The wooden last is a hook-nosed William last, reminiscent of Edwin Clapp from the 40s.
This time, VARIED, a gibier leather company, will also be exhibiting and will be accepting orders for leather brought in by customers. Please come to the event. We look forward to seeing you!
